Field Notes for Oregon Oregon Field Ornithologists' regional field notes editors maintain seasonal compilations of notable bird occurrences in each of Oregon's nine reporting regions. These regional compilations facilitate the tracking of local phenology and trends within the state's diverse ecoregions. Compilations for recent years are available for download in spreadsheet format, to promote projects that require further analysis or sorting of these records. Each issue of Oregon Birds includes a statewide summary column for each season, focusing on bird status and trends within the main regions of the state. For a summary of the most significant birding events on the larger, Pacific Northwest scale, we recommend that birders suscribe to North American Birds, which includes an excellent Oregon-Washington report for each season. Field Notes Reporting Format Field notes should be sent to the regional compilers listed below according to the season and region. Please include species, date(s), location(s), number, sex and age if known, and a description of any birds that are rare for the time and place. You may contact the regional compiler for questions on rarity or other information. Oregon Birds and North American Birds have synchronized reporting areas, periods, and deadlines. Field reports for eastern and western Oregon are due to the Oregon Birds Regional editor and North American Birds Regional Editor at the same time.
